La Otra Milonga - the jump

July 2005, a forsaken tendonitis knocked me off the dance floor for 6 months! Could I stay away from tango for that long? Of course not. I hooked up with a few friends and decided to organise a milonga, something different to what we had in Edinburgh, something more intimate, more relaxed, less formal, where the music invited everybody to dance.
Two and a half years past, the current management of La Otra Milonga takes it a little but further. A Xmas ball, a fantastic duo of maestros with a wicked musicality and a secret santa. After all is Xmas, isn't it?

La Revancha de La Otra Milonga!

It's next friday, on the 20th of July, that Edinburgh's funkiest milonga will resume again. La Otra Milonga, as the name says, it's different. It's not only the music, it's definitely not the people (as most of the people that go to La Otra also go to other milongas) and it's not the location. What is it? At La Otra we are not purists. We believe that Tango is much more than a music style or a dance. We believe that Tango is a state of mind in which you use the music and the dance to express yourself. We believe that you can do that with many music styles improvising your way through. Tango is a feeling. If you feel it, come to La Otra.
