In the group Tango-UK there is fruitfull discussion about tango and neo tango. Amongst some precious gems (as in someone stating that someone else said very concisively THE truth, therefore creating a solution for all those philosophers that have long been searching THE truth but never found it) you cannot stop noticing how they try to demonstrate how knowlegeable by adding the exact details of a version of their favourite music in the end of the post... It really looks like a Cockerel fight!
Now that we mention cockerel fights maybe I should add (and show off a little bit my 10p worth of tango knowledge ;o) that this was the inspiring idea for the known tango "Gallo Ciego", literally meaning Blind Cockerel. Roosters cannot co-exist, there can only be one and when two are put together there can only be one standing. The first thing rooster do is to try to beak the opponent's eye. Hence the name of the track. And it really sounds like a rooster fight! So I'll leave you in the company of Mr Rodriguez and Ms Rojas, exemplifying how beautiful a Cockerel fight can be!

Or for deranged international fighting cocks, there's always Tango-L.
Stunning. And yet, it's actually quite showy as well!
It shows that you CAN do both!
Supantheress, have you noticed your favourite DJ in the beginning? Felix indahouse!
Ew.
An Argentinian colleague of mine told me that Gallo Ciego also means the children's game that I would call Blind Man's Buff.
Hi mshedgehog:
THe article I read long time ago was in, I think, Michael Lavocah's blog. Otherwise it may have been in Tango and Chaos.
I google it again and indeed a found a website that says that the title of the song may have been from one (the blinded man who has to get people by obbeying orders) or by rooster fights. I think the general opinion was the last but the secret went to the tomb with Bardi (who I think wrote the song originally)!
That straight legged high boleo at 0:30 is just killer! I almost fell out of my chair! As usual, executed perfectly to the music. And, they are such masters of all things traspie/sidesteppy. Geraldine has a knack for throwing in embellishments within/on top of the traspie. They are so fast you can barely detect them.
A very nice one...thanks for sharing!
Hi Alex, yes, it happened the same to me, I was just... Wow! Anyway, I think that move is a sacada, isn't it?
