Hi Koolricky,

I hope you'll excuse me going way off topic here (because this video is a little too crazy for me) but I'm hoping you got to see the photos I took of Ms. Red Shoes and that you will get to dance with her when she is in Edinborough!

;-)

Hi iislucas, I knew you would love it. ;o)
tangobaby, I HAVE seen the photographs in your blog! Whether is you with the camera or the real thing I am yet to see but they look fantastic! ;o) Unfortunately I won't be in Edinburgh during august unless... oh well, one can never tell about the future, hey?

This is really interesting. I know the track - it's Hugo Diaz, but i don't remember its name. On youTube it's labelled 'milonga' but it seems to me that they're actually dancing Canyengue for most of it, which I think makes sense with the music. There is a lot more drama with the legs than I've seen in other examples of Canyengue, but the basic idea is definitely that. The hold is quite different from a tango hold. Although, when I did a Canyengue course last year, it did wonders for my close-embrace tango.

Hi mshedgehog!

The name of the track is "El Llorón".

Is funny that you make that comment about Canyengue because now I completely agree with you. And I know that Horácio (who is one of the organisers of La Viruta, one of the most known BsAs milongas) has formation in Argentine Folklore so it may be possible that he is putting some Canyengue into the dance. He is mainly a "new generation" tanguero though, to use the cliché expresssion.
